Recommendations presented to revoke citizenships of 5 people False info provided: council

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: The supreme council for citizenship has presented recommendations to withdraw the citizenships of five individuals after the council uncovered they did not fulfill requirements for obtaining the Kuwaiti citizenship, as per law number 15/1959, reports Al-Anba daily. According to the council, the recommendations were made after the discovery that some of them had provided false information, while others were engaged in operations that harmed the supreme welfare of the country. In this regard, sources affirmed the citizenships of the five individuals will be revoked, together with those who have been naturalized respectively through them.

Sources mentioned the supreme council for citizenship has no authority to withdraw citizenship and it only submits recommendations to the cabinet, and then cabinet in this case, will study the recommendations at its weekly meetings held on Mondays, and from there, the fate of the five people will be decided.

Meanwhile, high ranking sources have said a new batch of the children of Kuwaiti women will be naturalized soon. They stressed the new batch consists of the children of the security officers who protected the convoy of late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah and were naturalized recently.
