Expat not guilty:

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: : The Court of Appeals upheld a previous verdict and acquitted an Arab expatriate accused of manslaughter involving two laborers who were at the time of their demise working at a major road project in Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorate. Representing the first defendant, Lawyer Hamoud Al-Rad’aan pleaded his client was innocent of all charges against him based on the forensic ‘’chalk drawing of dead body’’ which indicated the first defendant was driving in a straight line when suddenly another car (second defendant’s) deviated and hit his car. As a result, he lost control and ran over the victims.

Al-Rad’aan noted the person who did the chalk drawing of dead body did not conclude on whose mistake had caused the accident. He argued there was a passenger inside the car which deviated and hit the vehicle of the first defendant, affirming the passenger was asleep. He asserted the second defendant was asleep; that’s why his car deviated and hit the first defendant’s, so it was enough evidence the second defendant did not take necessary precautions while driving
