Asia man, Filipino woman commit suicide

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: The body of an Asian man, believed to be 35 years old, was found behind Mubarak Al- Kabeer Hospital recently and investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of death. Security officers and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room at the Interior Ministry received a call regarding the incident. The corpse was referred to Forensics to establish the cause of death.

Two commit suicide: An unidentified Asian man ended his life by hanging himself with a rope tied to ceiling of his room inside his sponsor’s livestock pen in Farwaniya, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, another person, a Filipino woman also allegedly ended her life by jumping to her death from the fourth floor of a building in Hawalli. The woman was rushed to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Drug peddlers held: Officers from the Drug Control General Directorate (DCGD) arrested two Asians for trading in drugs with one and a half kilogram of heroin in their possession, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press statement, the directorate revealed the officers acted on a tip-off about one of the suspects trafficking in drugs. This was followed by a surveillance to verify the information and then the officers raided the suspect’s apartment where he was arrested with the possession of 250 grams of heroin. During interrogation, the suspect told the officers he got the heroin from another Asian who was arrested later. The other suspect admitted the crime and guided police to a room he rented where he hid the drugs, resulting in the discovery of one and quarter kilogram of heroin. Both suspects and confiscated drugs were referred to the concerned authority for the necessary legal action. Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen arrested a Bedoun with 94 packs of shabu and three rolls of hashish in his possession. The officers also found out the suspect had earlier been involved in several cases. He was referred to the relevant security department for questioning and other necessary measures.
