Bid to cut traffic jam Security heightened at airport: Al-Saq’abi

KUWAIT CITY, July 24: Major General Al-Khaled Al-Saq’abi, the Director General of Airport Security affirmed that intensive security measures are in place to take care of large numbers of travelers the airport witnesses during Eid al-Fitr celebration, coinciding with traveling season where heavy passenger movement is observed.

 
In a press statement, Major General Al-Saq’abi added the Ministry of Interior considers the airport to be the facade of Kuwait, thus efforts are exerted to ensure that the place is in a suitable form. He affirmed a complete coordination with concerned agencies in the airport and the Interior ministry, Civil Aviation Authority and Customs Authority to guarantee smooth operations and movements at the airport while facilitating the necessary procedures to attain the highest level of order.  He indicated tight cooperation between the department and traffic sector to help reduce traffic jam at the two terminals (Arrivals and Departure) to enhance safety of the people on the roads outside the terminals.
 
Meanwhile, the Director of Security Information and Guidance Brigadier Al-Hashash has said his department is executing the necessary media awareness plans for the general public through various public information media during eid al-fitr festivities to ensure that the public gain awareness on issues pertaining to traveling to other countries and arrival.
