MoE needs head Ministerial reshuffle expected

KUWAIT CITY, July 24: A ministerial reshuffle is expected to occur in the first week of September prior to the third legislative term in October due to a number of reasons including the need to appoint a minister of Education for taking up the responsibilities of the new academic year, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting informed sources.

They said the proposed reshuffle will include three ministries — Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which is being temporarily managed by the Deputy Premier and Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Abdulmohsen Al-Mudej after former minister Ahmad Al-Mulaifi resigned in May, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs which is being managed by the Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah respectively. They revealed that the minister of another ministry has expressed desire to resign over some personal matters.

Sources disclosed that the Parliament has been pressurizing the government to appoint MP Ouda Al-Ruwaie as the minister of Education and Higher Education; however, its efforts failed due to the government’s intention to appoint a ministry official in the position because of the latter’s experience and understanding of the ministry’s needs and problems.
