Kuwaiti bludgeons to death ex-wife; Indian in wife kill Lankan thief falls to his death

KUWAIT CITY, July 23: A Kuwaiti citizen murdered his ex-wife inside his flat in Salmiya area by hitting her several times on her head.  According to security sources, the citizen contacted his former wife and invited her to his flat for holding talks to solve their problems. However, when the discussion developed into an argument between them, the suspect hit the victim several times on her head, causing her to lose consciousness. When the suspect notified the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior, paramedics and securitymen rushed to the location and examined the victim to realize she had succumbed to head injuries. Officers from General Department for Criminal Evidences referred her corpse to the Forensics Department. The suspect has been arrested and detained in Salmiya Police Station for investigations. Meanwhile, two Indian expatriates were arrested for murdering the Sri Lankan wife of one of them at Fahaheel Market. 
 
According to sources, when Ahmadi securitymen received information about a murder case at Fahaheel Market, they rushed to the location with paramedics and found a Sri Lankan woman lying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. Her corpse was referred to the Forensics Department. Securitymen arrested the victim's husband and his friend of Indian nationality after discovering that they had murdered her.   
 
Theft dies in fall: An unidentified Sri Lankan fell to his death from the fourth floor of a residential building in Riqqa, reports Al-Rai daily. When the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received a call that an unidentified person was lying in the compound of a building, police and paramedics rushed to the spot and found the man in a pool of blood. Five people — 2 Iranians, 2 Bangladeshis and an Egyptian - working for a restaurant said the man was a thief and when he sensed he was being watched he attempted to jump, lost his balance and fell. The five people have been detained for interrogation.
 
Man killed: A 51-year-old man died on the spot and three others were seriously injured when their car overturned on road in Al-Mutla’a, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The victim died on the spot. The cause of the accident is known. The three injured men have been referred to a hospital.

Drunk diplomat: Police briefly detained for interrogation an unidentified diplomat of an European embassy for driving under the influence of alcohol, reports Al-Shahed daily. The diplomat was seized on the Arabian Gulf Street for reckless driving and after interrogation he was handed over to the embassy and a report on the incident has been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
