When a vision strikes

ALLOW me to start by taking this opportunity to wish everyone a very blessed Ramadan. Today, in this little space, I choose to talk about vision. It’s very interesting to me how people look at the same thing with so many different perspectives. Each one of us has a vision, and no matter how objective we try to be, our vision will always come from deep within; from our subjectivity, our thoughts, our feelings, and the message we want to send to whoever is watching out there.
In my line of work as a Creative Director and a Stylist/Fashion Blogger, I’m always on the lookout. Not for an item or a specific brand, but for inspirations — something to trigger my eyes, my brain and my heart and motivate me to create. At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. And creativity has got to start with humanity and when you’re a human being, you think, you feel, and you will eventually develop the need to express.
Growing up, I was always so attentive and aware of my surroundings. I’m the kind of a person who has a need to be inspired at all times. So I trained myself to be aware, to have the mindset of a person on a mission. And I was lucky enough to be able to use this quality to do something I truly love.
You may be wondering what exactly it is that I do. And the easiest way to explain is to say that I put together a concept, a photograph and I turn a creative or an artistic vision into a reality. It all starts when a vision strikes. You see something and it immediately transforms into a story in your head, an image only you can see. My job is to bring this image out and frame it. I put together the mood board, find the right model for the story, and choose the brand to dress her that would fit the concept, the hair, the makeup, the location, the props and most importantly, the photographer. Every single team member I work with is crucially important for any project. You can’t miss a detail.  It’s a team work and every one of your team matters.
To a lot of people, this might not even sound like a real job, but in my perspective, it’s my way of living and expressing. Understand, to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe. Keep your dreams alive.
