MoI ready to deal with traffic, security problems in last 10 days of Ramadan Wafra-Mina Abdullah Bridge closed for 21 days

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: The Ministry of Interior has affirmed its readiness to deal with traffic and security problems in the last 10 days of Ramadan when worshippers normally throng to various mosques to pray, especially the Grand Mosque, reports Al-Rai daily quoting Director of Public Relations, Moral Guidance and Security Information Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash. In a recent press statement, Al- Hashash disclosed the concerned departments have taken necessary measures and all of them are wellprepared for this period.

He said the level of preparedness is in accordance with the directive of Interior Minister and acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khalid Al-Sabah. He added Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulayman Al-Fahad is closely monitoring the situation. He confirmed the comprehensive traffic and security plan is aimed at ensuring safety of lives and properties through intensive security surveillance. He asserted the officers will work hard to guarantee smooth flow of traffic, explaining this is the rationale behind the deployment of a large number of officers throughout the country to keep an eye on vehicular movement.


KUWAIT CITY: The General Traffic Department announced that the Wafra-Mina Abdullah Bridge in Ali Al-Sabah (Umm Al-Ayman) area will be closed for 21 days starting from Saturday morning. According to a press release, the aim of closing the bridge is for the Ministry of Public Works to carry out maintenance works within the intersection of the bridge number 306. The maintenance works include consolidating concrete on the bridge to make it strong enough to bear the traffic movements and weight of heavy vehicles.
