Forcing for sex Kuwaiti student drowns

KUWAIT CITY, July 14: In what is seen as a strange incident, when an unidentified woman filed a complaint with the Sulaibikhat Police Station accusing her husband of forcing her to break her fast and assaulting her for refusing to obey him, the man was summoned for interrogation, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The man admitted to breaking the fast because he is sick, but denied assaulting the woman. The wife complained the man forces her to have sex during fasting time in spite of repeatedly telling him that obedience to him should not come at the expense of disobeying God. She also said when she resisted his attempts he assaulted her, a charge denied by the man.

 ‘Shut co-ops, eateries: The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Abdul Mohsen Al-Mudej had issued decisions to shut down 20 branches of cooperative societies, restaurants and shops in different parts of the country after laboratory results of samples taken from these shops showed they were selling inedible food for human consumption, reports Al-Rai daily. The sources said some of these shops were selling fish unfit for human consumption.

Bedoun ‘rejected’: The authorities in Kuwait have refused to allow a bedoun to enter Kuwait who alleged infiltrated into Iraq and was arrested by the Iraqi intelligence, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said the authorities in Iraq informed their Kuwaiti counterpart and offered to hand him over but the concerned Kuwaiti authorities refused to accept him because the man is originally from Iraq as per the data Kuwait has on the man.

MP robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified person for breaking into the vehicle of MP Dr Abdulrahman Al-Jeeran and stealing about KD 1,000 and official documents, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to the parliamentarian the car was parked in front of his home in the Capital Governorate when the theft occurred. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Kuwaiti student drowns: A Kuwaiti student in the US, identified only as DS, drowned in one of the rivers in the State of Florida, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily. The daily added the student’s remains were fished out of water after strenuous efforts by search and rescue teams. The student was on scholarship by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Education. The cause of drowning is not mentioned.
