Molotov cocktails thrown at prison Senior Awqaf dept employees probed in funds scam

KUWAIT CITY, July 10: The Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs referred all senior employees of the Development & Training Department to the Public Prosecution for allegedly committing financial irregularities and embezzling money, reports Al- Shahed daily. This came after their names surfaced in the report issued by the investigation committee formed by the ministry.

Prison attacked: Director of the Central Prison has filed a complaint with the Sulaibikhat Police Station accusing two unidentified masked men for throwing Molotov cocktails at the wall of the guard tower of the prison, reports Al- Shahed daily. Police are looking for the suspects with the help of CCTV footage

Probe conducted: The State Security Department at the Ministry of Interior is currently conducting an investigation to identify the person who wrote a statement deemed offensive to the ruling family on the car of a Kuwaiti man in Doha. The Chief Prosecutor had earlier registered a case and asked a handwriting expert to analyze the statement in order to identify the suspect and arrest him. Meanwhile, a handwriting expert was summoned to the Fishermen Diwaniay in Salmiya to look into the statement similar to what is written on the flag of DAESH. The Public Prosecution released five Kuwaitis who were arrested recently for participating in an unlicensed public protest, and extended the detention of five others for further investigations.
