Iranian arrested for cheating Kuwaiti

KUWAIT CITY, July 10: Police have arrested an unidentified Iranian for buying 12 air-conditioning units from a Kuwaiti and escaping without paying the money, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after the Kuwaiti filed a complaint with the Adan Police Station. In the complaint the Kuwaiti said he replaced the 12 units with new ones and the Iranian who bought the old units promised to pay the money within 24 hours. However, after taking possession of the units, he switched off his cell phone and disappeared. The Iranian was arrested from the Shuwaikh Industrial Area.

Bootleggers held: Police have arrested three Asians for bootlegging, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said patrolmen on duty in West Sulaibikhat saw the three men in abnormal condition and when they asked to see their IDs, the patrolmen got a strange smell from their body. When the men were ordered to enter the police car, one of them reportedly attacked a policeman with a knife but he was overpowered and arrested. One of the men then guided police to their apartment where they manufacture alcohol. Police are said to have confiscated 12 barrels filled with the brew and alcohol manufacturing equipment.
