Some areas in Messila, Riqqa witness power cuts

KUWAIT CITY, July 10: Some blocks in Messila and Riqqa areas recently witnessed a series of power outages ranging from thirty minutes to one hour, reports Al-Shahed daily. The residents of these areas wondered why the Ministry of Electricity and Water did not issue any official statement to explain the reasons for the power outages. They were disappointed over the negligence of the ministry in handling this issue, demanding the ministry to issue statements explaining the reasons behind the outages.

The residents stressed that they want to know if the ministry deliberately carried out the power rationing or if it was due to some maintenance purposes, suggesting that any procedures that could lead to power outages should be postponed until after Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the Engineering Sector of the Ministry of Public Works has completed 84 percent of construction projects as well as the maintenance of intersections on Sixth and Seventh ring roads which lead to the new residential areas in west of Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh, reports Al-Shahid daily quoting reliable sources. They explained that each of the intersections on the Sixth Ring Road between east of Ardiya and the entrance to Abdallah Al-Mubarak area on the Seventh Ring Road are also being developed.

They further explained that the projects also include constructing and maintaining the drainage systems, repairing the east and west sections of Sixth Ring Road while expanding the north and south sections. The sources indicated that the ongoing construction and maintenance works on the public roads also include changing the bridge pillar structures and amending the shoreline that intersects with one of the entrances to the southeastern area of the Sixth Ring Road.
