Labor receives no complaints - Employees absenteeism in Ramadan

KUWAIT CITY, July 7: Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Zaki Al-Salimi affirmed that the sector has not received any complaints about absenteeism so far in the holy month of Ramadan, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Indicating that the sector has not received any reports of employees who took leave without obtaining prior permission, Al-Salimi explained that it does not have the right to take action against an absent employee unless the official in charge of the sector files a memo in which the latter reports an employee’s absence from work and requests for immediate investigation.

He said the issue is the responsibility of the director of the unit or the sector, stressing that the director will be referred for investigations if the sector receives information about the director’s hesitation to take legal measures against an absent employee.
