13 youths arrested

KUWAIT CITY, July 4: The security authorities have arrested 13 youths — five of them living in Riqqa and eight in Sabah Al-Nasser, for demonstrating, wandering aimlessly, holding illegal marches, disrupting traffic and damaging public and private property and in some cases setting fire which were controlled by firemen, says a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior. The press release said, the arrest came after issuing several warnings to the youths stop their reckless behavior and after the residents of the areas resented such behavior. The Ministry of Interior has called on the citizens and particularly the parents to be more responsible about their children and prevent them from participating in acts which not only harm them but the families.

Police hunts arsonists: Police are looking for unidentified arsonists for setting fire to a room at the Courts Mall in Riqqa, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily quoting security sources said the suspects took advantage of the situation because most of the securitymen were posted in Farwaniya and near the Central Prison to monitor the situation when public rallies were held in some of these areas. The arsonists reportedly took advantage of the situation, broke the glass of the room and set fire. They escaped from the scene when the guard of the building raised an alarm. The security authorities are said to be reviewing the CCTV footage of the security cameras installed in the building to arrest the suspects
