‘These notes are fake ... give me old bills’ Mentally ill man insists on going to Brazil

KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Surprisingly several expatriates who allegedly live in the world of their own knew nothing about the new Kuwaiti banknotes which are in circulation and reportedly refused to accept the money, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received several calls from citizens saying some expatriates refused to accept the new banknotes saying they were not aware whether the currency is genuine or fake. One of the expatriates working at a petrol station insisted on accepting the old currency.

‘Want to see match’: Immigration officers at the Kuwait International Airport have seized a Kuwaiti man who is in his 40s and referred him to the Psychological Medicines Hospital, reports Al- Shahed daily. According to the daily, security authorities at the Kuwait International Airport received a call from an unidentified airlines office at the airport who insisted in buying a ticket to go to Brazil to watch FIFA World Cup matches.

The counter staff also complained the man was not carrying any travel document. However, it has been reported the man only produced a card which showed that he is receiving treatment for psychological problems
