Work permit transfer streamlined Manpower chief issues order

KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower Jamal Al- Dosari issued two decisions to organize procedures for the transfer of work permits in the governmental and private sectors, reports Al- Anba daily.

The first decision states the authority has the right to allow the laborer to work with another employer during the experimental phase in line with certain conditions, among which to get approval from the employer who sponsors the employee; in addition to allowing the employee to transfer his residence to another employer after spending one year minimum with the original employer.

The decision says the new contract includes allowing the laborer to join for 100 days probation, after that the work permit must be issued during this phase from the Inspection Department before the laborer resumes work with the new employer provided the assessment of the manpower needs of the latter allows him to recruit more laborers.

The second decision prohibits transfer of work permits of laborers on governmental contracts unless the contract is finished. In addition, the transfer must be under the same employer if it is proven that the employer has another governmental contract.
