‘Manpower’ authority senior posts soon MPW recruits 12,191 citizens

KUWAIT CITY, June 29: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, State Minister for Planning and Development Hind Al-Subaih is on the verge of issuing a ministerial decision to fill vacant supervisory positions at Public Authority for Manpower, reports Al-Jarida daily. A source said the positions include administrative managers, heads of departments and supervisors, noting the Director General of Public Authority for Manpower Jamal Al- Dosari forwarded a letter to the minister in which he nominated employees for the positions. He said the minister will review the list before approval; the list is expected to be disclosed soon.

Meanwhile, Al-Dosari has issued two decisions to regulate work permits at institutions in both public and private sectors. The first decision stipulates that Public Authority for Manpower will only allow an employee to work with another employer during the probation period based on certain criteria and conditions. One of the conditions is that the employer on whose file the employee is registered should agree to the transfer, and the employee must have spent one year under his sponsorship. The second decision states that employees cannot transfer government contracts until end of the contract.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Public Works approved 12,191 jobs for the current fiscal year, with an increase in the employment figure by 971 compared to fiscal year 2013/2014 which covered seven programs in Public Diwan, Construction Projects Sector, Maintenance Engineering Sector, Governmental Inspections Center, Health and Road Engineering, and Technical Services, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The daily quoting sources said they look ahead to Civil Service Commission (CSC) to nominate candidates for appointments. Also, the ministry is expected to create a total number of 1,170 jobs with its current budget for the citizens who have been recruited in different sectors of the ministry through the annual nominations of CSC for fiscal year 2013/2014, sources noted. It is worth mentioning the Ministry of Public Works received the approval of Finance Ministry to create new jobs and approve funds to cover all items related to the new jobs that have been included in the budgets of fiscal year 2014/2015.
