Negligent doctor gets month in prison, hard labour

KUWAIT CITY, June 27: The Misdemeanor Court has issued a verdict sentencing a doctor to one month imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution for failing to do his job properly, reports Al-Rai daily. It has been reported the doctor had fixed dentures and the victim began experiencing pain leading to gingivitis and when he visited the doctor, the latter said it was natural. However, two weeks later, the patient was shocked when two teeth fell off and he had to be rushed to a hospital where doctors removed the dentures following other complications. The man filed a case against the doctor and the court found him guilty

Cash, checks stolen: A Lebanese reported a burglary in the house of his father in Nugra, disclosing the thieves carted away some pieces of jewelry and cheques with an estimated total value of KD22,000, reports Al-Yawm daily. Officers from Nugra Police Station rushed to the location after receiving the complainant’s call. The complainant told the officers the suspects entered his father’s house forcefully, opened the safe and took the jewelry and cheques. The officers lifted fingerprints and investigations are ongoing to arrest the thieves.
