Robbed by casting spell

KUWAITCITY, June 27: The Ahmadi police have asked to review a video footage of an unidentified local bank in an attempt to catch an unidentified woman wearing niqab who is said to have stole KD 1,250 from a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added the citizen in his complaint to the Fahaheel Police Station said the incident happened at a local bank branch near a commercial mall. He added, the suspect approached him and tried to befriend him and without his knowledge stole the envelope containing the money.

The man claims the woman may have some magic power because when she approached him he ‘blanked’ and did not even pay attention to what the woman was saying until he realized she had looted him.

Forged bedoun passport: Personnel from the Ministry of Interior have arrested a Syrian in the case of issuing a forged passport to a bedoun for a large sum of money, reports Al-Shahed daily. Sources said the bedoun was arrested by the Dubai immigration authorities and repatriated to Kuwait after they suspected him of travelling on a forged document. In Kuwait, the bedoun told police he bought the passport from the Syrian for KD 1,500 and gave securitymen the address of the Syrian.

Police investigations revealed the Syrian was working with the Dominican authorities to issue passports for bedoun and his contract ended in 2008. After the expiry of the contract, the Syrian reportedly got involved in illegal activities of selling passports. He has been referred to the concerned authorities for legal procedures.

Girl on mom’s passport: The Hawally police recently foiled an attempt by an unidentified young Egyptian woman to leave the country on her mother’s passport, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily. The arrest came following an ‘absconding’ report filed by her father at a local police station.

The sources said the young woman was detained at the Kuwait International Airport by the immigration authorities and during interrogation she confessed to using her mother’s passport to leave the country. The mother admitted to giving the passport to her daughter who wanted to leave for her home country saying the father had refused to hand over the passport to her.
