Huge quantity of pirated CDs seized

KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department raided two shops in Salmiya area and confiscated 50,000 copies of pirated CDs which contain immoral materials and blaspheme against the Almighty God, in addition to equipment for making duplicate films. Security sources said a team was formed to search the two stores following reports the Criminal Investigation Department received about the activities of the owner who allegedly pirated immoral films. The shop attendants have since been referred to Public Prosecution.

13 held in brothel raid: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, the Ahmadi police recently raided a brothel in Mahboula and arrested 13 Asians —nine of them prostitutes and four fun seekers, reports Al-Shahed daily. All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities to prepare their deportation from the country.

 Afghani, Bedoun held: Two youths — an Afghani and a Bedoun have been arrested in Jahra stables area in possession of a stolen vehicle with a false number plate, sharp objects, three Civil Ids and other suspicious items, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, the youths were arrested at a security checkpoint set by Jahra securitymen in Jahra stables area.
