Barrak faces interrogation Twitter owner detained till Sunday

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The Public Prosecution will detain the owner of the Twitter account ‘Ila Destour’ until Sunday for investigations over the case filed by the Chairman of Supreme Judiciary Council Judge Faisal Al-Murshid who accused the suspect of offending the judiciary and publishing false accusations against two of the council members without providing evidences to back his accusations.

Meanwhile, former MP Musallam Al-Barrak has been summoned to the Counterfeit Department of the General Department for Criminal Evidences for interrogations over the case filed by Judge Al- Murshid and his deputy regarding the accusations Al-Barrak issued against the judges during his recent speech at the Erada Square. Regarding the documents that were posted on website ‘Kuwait Gate’ and reposted in the Twitter account ‘Karama Al-Watan’, Lawyer Fayez Al- Dousari, who is representing one of the judges, affirmed that the bank, which is mentioned in the documents, has denied any involvement in the matter and that it did not issue the documents.

Indicating that the bank considers the documents to be forged, Lawyer Al-Dousari explained that the documents are related to the recent ‘multimillion deposits’ scandal which was exposed by former MPs Musallam Al-Barrak, Jama’an Al-Harbash and Abdulrahman Al- Kandari. The Public Prosecution will summon several personalities in the coming week for investigations over the allegations raised by some former MPs recently.
