‘Labor’ denies reports on work permits

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: The Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and Director General of Public Authority for Manpower Jamal Al-Dousari has denied reports published in some newspapers about the ministry’s decision to allow all companies to issue work permits, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He affirmed that the news is not accurate, clarifying that an administrative circular was issued to all labor departments with instructions to receive demands from employers for allowing the issuance of work permits for recruiting employees from overseas and for approving the required professions.

Al-Dousari stressed his keenness to facilitate the procedures for employers and businessmen to finalize their transactions easily, affirming that he follows the opendoor policy for all visitors based on the directives issued by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al- Sabeeh.

Meanwhile, sources said Al-Dousari had held a meeting earlier with the Kuwaiti-Indian Committee in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sunil C. Jain for discussing some previously-signed memos of understanding.
