‘Wasta’ frees two absconding Indians

KUWAIT CITY, June 16: A senior officer in the Ministry of Interior is said to have used his wasta and released two Indians from a police station in the Capital governorate, reports Al-Rai daily. The Indians were reported ‘absconding’ by their sponsors. Meanwhile, police have arrested an unidentified 30-year-old bedoun for possessing drugs, reports Al- Kuwaitiah daily. He was detained in Hawalli. According to security sources the suspect was caught by a police patrol. Police have reportedly seized from the man six sachets of drugs.

Expat held drunk: Police have arrested an unidentified expatriate for drinking alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily. The drunkard was arrested in a suburb of Fahd Al-Ahmed. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
