7,000 citations issued, 500 cars seized in nationwide raids

KUWAIT CITY, June 16: During campaigns in several areas of the six governorates, the traffic police have issued 7,000 traffic citations for various reasons and impounded 500 cars, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily did not give more details. Meanwhile, the Farwaniya police have issued 120 traffic citations for motorists over the past week for parking their vehicles in places allotted for the ‘disabled’, reports Alam Alyawm daily. The citations were issued in the parking lot of the Avenues Mall.

 Municipality complaints: The Public Relations Department of the Kuwait Municipality said the department had received 212 complaints in May 2014 on issues such as public hygiene, illegal commercial activities and others through the hotline and that these complaints have been referred to the concerned Municipality branches, reports Al- Qabas daily. The sources added, the biggest number of complaints were received from the Capital (51 complaints) and the fewer were from the Al-Jahra Governorate which accounted for 24 complaints. The department affirmed the employees manning the hotline are not only transferring the complaints to the concerned authorities, but are following the issue to ensure necessary procedures are adopted to reassure the complainant that his/her complaint has been taken care of
