Move to deal with MERS-hit passengers MoH holds training session at airport

KUWAIT CITY, June 11: Undersecretary of Ministry of Health Dr Khalid Al-Sahlawi says the ministry held a training session at the Kuwait International Airport on how to deal with passengers suffering from coronavirus infections, reports Al-Seyassah daily. He explained that the ministry coordinated with other concerned authorities such as Public Health and Medical Emergency departments to conduct this workshop at the airport for preparing the officers to deal with such cases.

Meanwhile, Dr Al-Sahlawi revealed that the ministry is studying the possibility of passing laws for protection of children, adding the ministry had earlier formed a national committee for the protection of children, reports Al-Jaridah daily. On the sidelines of inaugural ceremony of the 15th meeting for the GCC Health Legislation Committee, Al-Sahlawi said the ministry will recruit social specialists to spread awareness to mothers about how to deal with children.

He indicated that legislations will be updated during the next phase to include clauses for protection of children from assaults against them. He pointed out another important issue that should be dealt with through legislations, which is violence against doctors in hospitals, adding that this phenomenon is prevalent not only in Kuwait but also in many Arab and other countries around the world
