Filipino hairdresser accused of swindling Kuwaiti caught

KUWAIT CITY, June 9: The Salmiya police have detained an unidentified Filipino hairdresser for allegedly swindling the Kuwaiti owner of a beauty parlor, reports Al-Anba daily. The arrest came after the owner accused the beautician of embezzling more than KD 10,000 in a systematic manner. The complainant added, when she discovered the salon making losses she was about to close shop in spite of the fact the salon is located in prime area and visiting the salon are high class clients around the clock. The complainant added when an auditor checked the accounts, she found the beautician had kept the profits for her personal use - a charge denied by the beautician.

Two Indians perish: Two Indian died during installation of an elevator inside a residential building in Hawalli, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to reports the workers lost their balance and fell to the ground. The death was instantaneous. The incident is being investigated by the police. Meanwhile, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have referred the remains of an unidentified Egyptian to Forensics to identify the cause of death, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
