Bid to organize commercial market, check ‘fraud’ MoCI on verge of creating 3 independent bodies

KUWAIT CITY, June 9: Ministry of Commerce and Industry is on the verge of creating three independent bodies to organize the commercial market and check commercial fraud in the country, reports Al-Nahar daily quoting sources.

The same sources added the ministry follows up the idea of starting an institute for small projects to protect consumers, as well as communications body.

They noted the relevant laws are on the way to the Fatwa and Legislation Department for the protection of consumers, amid government’s support for the activities organized in the institutes.

Meanwhile, the ministry endeavors to control quality by placing severe sanctions on violators. Sources noted the licenses of those caught in fraudulent acts will be withdrawn, and reiterated the executive regulations will most likely be approved at the end of the year.
