Daring theft of MoI car Candidate in winter clothes, scarce cash

KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Last candidate to file for the National Assembly by-elections was Mohammad Al-Mutairi who came to file his documents wearing winter clothes, reports Al-Rai daily. While paying the fees he discovered 250 fils was less and this was paid by one of the employees.

The candidate insisted on putting his fingerprints on the document and was reportedly carrying with him an ink pad.

Meanwhile, in a strange incident, an unidentified person broke into the Mubarak Al-Kabir Security Directorate building and drove off with a car belonging to the Interior Ministry, reports Al-Shahed daily. A police source said the car was in custody of an Asian working for the Interior Ministry.

A complaint has been filed with the Sabah Al-Salem Police Station. In the complaint the driver said the car was parked inside the directorate building. And, acting on information firemen from the Salmiya and Hawalli fire centers rushed to a residential building in Hawalli and rescued a family which was trapped on the seventh floor after the outbreak of fire in the building, reports Annahar daily.

As a precautionary measure firemen evacuated the entire building before putting out the fire. No casualties have been reported.
