Restaurants open beyond midnight Eye on eve-teasers, thefts

KUWAIT CITY, June 5: Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid has issued orders to allow commercial shops and restaurants to remain open beyond midnight due to the advent of Ramadan especially with increase of shoppers in markets during late hours, reports Al-Anba daily quoting security sources. Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali has issued instructions to activate the decision of the Ministers Council regarding restricting loitering by youths and controlling theft crimes that usually occur late at night.

Rotten food seized: The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality has confiscated large quantity of rotten food items from the warehouse located in the basement of a building in Fintas area, reports Al- Qabas daily quoting informed sources. They revealed that inspectors from the Markets and Foodstuff Monitoring Department affiliated to the Inspection and Follow-up Sector of Ahmadi Municipality seized 36 cans of vine leaves, four gallons of olive oil and other food products that were expired or not suitable for human consumption
