Liquor peddlers, criminals, illegals held in new raids

KUWAIT CITY, June 5: A team of officers from Ahmadi Security Directorate recently launched another series of campaigns to track down criminals, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The campaign led to the arrest of seven individuals who failed to present valid identification documents as they were found to have violated the Residency Law, another seven involved in various cases, and two Asians trading in liquor with 43 bottles of locallybrewed alcohol in their possession.

The team also confiscated three vehicles whose owners have violated traffic regulations. According to a reliable source from the directorate, such campaigns will continue all over the governorate in a bid to prevent crimes and ensure public safety.

Duo held with drugs: A military man working in the special forces and his friend were arrested for involvement in a drug-related case with an undisclosed quantity of shabu in their possession, reports Al-Seyassah daily. While patrolling in Kheitan, security officers noticed the suspicious behavior of the two suspects who were inside a car. When the officers checked the vehicle, they found an envelope containing shabu and some drug paraphernalia. A case was registered and both suspects were referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action.
