Kuwaiti tennis players perish in accident on way home from UAE

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Two Kuwaiti tennis players, Fahd Al- Wada’ani (Al-Qadsiya Club), and Abdulaziz Ashour (Al-Yarmouk Club), died in a traffic accident, reports Al-Rai daily. Without going into details the daily said the victims died while they were driving home from the United Arab Emirates.

Citizen dies in mishap: A Kuwaiti citizen died when his Jeep, which was towing a caravan, toppled on Behait Road in Subbiya area due to a sandstorm that recently hit the country. Four camels also died in the accident, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a shepherd about the accident, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and discovered that the Kuwaiti citizen who was driving the Jeep that towed the caravan and four camels died in the accident, which occurred due to the sandstorm. The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department. Meanwhile, a bus toppled on Fahaheel Road opposite Messila area resulting in injuries to two Asian laborers who were trapped inside the bus along with 12 others. Firefighters rushed to the location with paramedics and rescued the trapped victims. The injured victims were referred to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Woman killed: Police are looking for a hit-and-run motorist for hitting a 34-year-old Egyptian woman while she was walking with her husband in Fintas, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a complaint filed by the victim’s husband the motorist was driving a four-wheeler The Al-Rai daily said the woman was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
