‘Wasta’ cop under probe

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Control and Inspection Department of the Interior Ministry has referred for interrogation a police officer from the Shuwaikh Police Station because of his intervention to free three Syrians who had allegedly assaulted a young bedoun, reports Al-Shahed daily.

According to reports the four people were involved in a fight inside a garage and the three Syrians assaulted the bedoun. When a complaint was filed all men were referred to a police station. A police source said upon the intervention of a Kuwaiti the police officer forced the bedoun to withdraw the complaint against his will. The police officer also destroyed the medical report which was submitted by the bedoun.
