Jazeera Airways receives new aircraft Group to place new order in next 12 months

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: Jazeera Airways Group took delivery of a brand new Airbus A320 aircraft on Wednesday, bringing its total fleet number to 15 aircraft. The new aircraft was placed in operation after it left the manufacturer’s A320 facility in Hamburg, Germany, on Wednesday morning and landed in Kuwait at 9:00pm local time.  Jazeera Airways Group Chairman, Marwan Boodai, said, “Operating one of the Middle East’s youngest fleets is a core component to our customer offering. This marks our 15th Airbus A320 delivery since 2005 and I thank partners for their great efforts in making every aircraft delivery a successful one.” The newly delivered aircraft passed through a diligent nine-month review process by the Jazeera Airways team, partners of the airline, and an independent inspector hired by the airline. The airline has received three new A320 aircraft in the last 12 months.

The airline made its first order for 15 Airbus A320 aircraft in 2005 when it started operations as the first private airline in Kuwait and the Middle East.  Boodai added, “In the next 12 months, Jazeera Airways Group is considering placing a new aircraft order as part of a phased fleet modernization program.” Jazeera Airways Group is a Kuwait Stock Exchange-listed company with a fleet of 15 fully-owned Airbus A320s, distributed between its airline business Jazeera Airways and its fully-owned leasing-arm Sahaab Aircraft Leasing. Sahaab has assets placed with Virgin America, SriLankan Airlines, Flynas and Jazeera Airways.

Jazeera Airways operates its fully-owned Airbus A320s with a two-class cabin comprising a Business Class and an Economy Class.  Business Class travelers get both an upgraded experience and exclusivity, starting with exclusive check-in lines, business lounge access, up to 60 kilograms in free baggage allowance, and an exclusive on-board cabin. The airline’s Economy Class offers travelers free baggage allowance of 40 kilograms and free on-board meals with a changing menu every month.
