VIVA holds orientation session for MUSS’s top qualifying players Ten players to attend Man Utd’s training program in England

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: VIVA, Kuwait’s fastest-growing and most developed telecom operator, announced that it held an orientation session with the top 10 players who will visit Manchester to practice at Manchester United’s Cardington training ground, and to play a game at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. The top 10 players were chosen from over 200 participants who joined in the Manchester United Soccer Academy try outs, which were held in April 2014. All the players will enjoy a fully funded week-long training camp in Manchester being trained by the best Manchester United coaches. The Manchester United Soccer School (MUSS) is a private facility very close to Manchester city center. The players will be accompanied by trainers, supervisors as well as VIVA officials who will all ensure that they are taken care of during their travels.

Commenting on this occasion, Abdulrazzaq Bader Al-Essa, Director of Corporate Communications at VIVA said: “At VIVA, we work tirelessly to ensure that our budding athletes get the most out of their training and experience at Manchester United Soccer School (MUSS). Our aim is to better equip them with all the necessary information they will require during their trip to the UK, from safety procedures, rules and regulations to travel etiquette and what will be expected from them during their training course at MUSS.” “We are very pleased to have been able to support these young athletes in bringing them closer to their dream of becoming professional football players. VIVA is very committed to encouraging young people in the community to develop their talents and hone their skills, and the Manchester United program is just one of the ways in which we are trying to do this.”

The top 10 players were chosen by a joint judging committee consisting of MUSS coaches, a Kuwaiti team led by players from the Kuwaiti National Football team. Each of the players were judged on the basis of their foot-balling capability and talent, physical fitness, discipline, their communication skills amongst each other as players and their general conduct on and off the field. The training program focused on different technical areas, such as dribbling, short passing, turning and finishing.  The programs were also designed to develop young players in other fields, such as tactical understanding, and mental, physical and social growth.

In 2011, VIVA announced its sponsorship of Manchester United for five years, starting with the 2011- 2012 Premier League season.  In August 2011 VIVA started to provide football fans the chance to win VIP tickets to watch Manchester United play at Old Trafford in England.  To support its sponsorship, VIVA has also developed a number of exciting promotional offers and distinguished gifts, entertaining programs, interactive competitions, and organized a number of activities to provide the subscribers with chances to watch the club stars playing matches at Old Trafford.
