‘Illegally paid MoE bonuses emptied treasury’ Number of officials incited to launch probe

KUWAIT CITY, May 30: Bonuses that were illegally disbursed to some employees of Ministry of Education has emptied the treasury of the ministry’s financial sector, which incited a number of officials to launch investigations in their departments, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that a new suggestion was presented to allocate bonuses of KD 1 million for each educational zone during the fiscal year 2015-2016.

However, some officials refused the suggestion, urging the ministry to respond to the report issued by the State Audit Bureau to retrieve the money that was disbursed illegally to the employees.

Meanwhile, sources explained that the first technical supervisor, as per the related job description, is supposed to work under the direct supervision of the director of the concerned educational zone and the general supervisor.

They indicated that he has to ensure the latest educational techniques and methods are implemented properly in the educational process as well as solve the problems among teachers in the departments of the schools. However, sources stressed that there is no need to increase the bonuses granted to the first technical supervisors irrespective of the number of tasks they handle.
