PAI affirms readiness to receive sites for tyre recycling plants Locations should be close to border: Al-Ajmi

KUWAIT CITY, May 30: The Public Authority for Industry (PAI) affirmed its readiness to receive sites allocated for the establishment of tyre recycling plants, provided the locations are close to the border, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting PAI acting Director General Mohammad Al-Ajmi. Indicating the Kuwait Municipality should approve the sites as the supervisory institution in charge of allocating land, Al-Ajmi pointed out that working in the sites also entails obtaining approval from the relevant agencies.

He said the locations should be cleared of military remnants and landmines; while the officials should coordinate with the Public Works Ministry to provide infrastructure like roads, water, electricity and fire extinguishing networks. Al-Ajmi told Kuwait Municipality Director General Engr Ahmad Al-Subaih the Municipal Council has approved allocation of six sites for collection of used tyres for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, represented by PAI, along South Salmi Road.

He disclosed the total area of the allotted plots is 300,000 square meters; stating each location measures 50,000 square meters and they are one km apart from one another. He added the tyre recycling sites, which measure 15,000 square meters each, are near the collection sites
