Ooredoo introduces one-of-a-kind sports arena Community-based company believes in empowering youth in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 29: Ooredoo in Kuwait announced that it will launch a full-fledged sports arena within the next few months as part of its social responsibility strategy. As a community-based company, Ooredoo strongly believes in empowering youth in Kuwait. Speaking at a press conference held at the new Ooredoo in Kuwait headquarters in Kuwait City, General Manager and CEO Eng. Abdulaziz Fakhroo said: “One of the core values of Ooredoo is supporting youth and helping them reach their potential.” He mentioned that Ooredoo is a community-based company, and therefore it cares for what people want in Kuwait. The sports arena is a great chance for youth to increase their sports talents and promote health.

Head of Communications and Brand Riham Al-Ayyar noted: “It gives us great pleasure to work with successful Kuwaiti entrepreneurs on such an initiative. Supporting youth and supporting entrepreneurs are two of our main pillars at Ooredoo.” She explained that the arena will have three air-conditioned indoors soccer fields, a gym, three restaurants serving healthy food and snacks, and a variety of sportswear boutiques and outlets. Al-Ayyar explained that Paris Saint-Germain Academy, a partner of Ooredoo Group, will hold activities in the arena for kids. Ghazi Al-Hajri from Goal noted that they will be using the best of their expertise in running the arena. “It’s a great opportunity for us to partner with an international group such as Ooredoo on a sports arena in Kuwait. We foresee a great success for this and can’t wait for people to experience this.”

Ahmad Al-Mudhaf, representing Mas Grand in Kuwait said: “This is a truly one-of-a-kind facility in Kuwait. It’s fully air-conditioned so the weather will not affect activities, and it’s located near one of the busiest locations in Kuwait near the avenues. We truly hope that this will offer sports fans with a place to exercise their passion.” Aside from its local initiatives in each country where it operates, Ooredoo Group has a number of ongoing international partnerships including its relationship with the Leo Messi Foundation, which has seen the company bring mobile health clinics to towns and villages in Indonesia. Ooredoo global brand ambassador and football hero Lionel ‘Leo’ Messi will be featured in the advertising campaign for the launch with the headline: ‘Your world just got better’.
