Forged money found on Syrian, Filipina

KUWAIT CITY, May 25: Hawalli police arrested a Syrian man and a Filipina woman for possessing counterfeit money, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The couple was traveling in a car when they aroused suspicion of the patrol officers due to reckless driving. The officers found KD 1,215 in their possession during a search and it turned out to be forged.

Meanwhile, a motorist escaped unhurt when his car toppled and went up in flames at a location in Salmiya, reports Al- Rai daily. It is said the motorist got out of the car before it caught fire and firefighters managed to control it. A case was registered. And, a Sudanese shepherd was admitted to a hospital after he was stung in the leg by a scorpion while grazing a herd of sheep in Salmi desert area, adding the sponsor had carried him to hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.

Indian held with pills: Customs officers at the Kuwait Airport foiled an attempt by one Indian passenger to smuggle 700 tablets of the drug Tramadol into the country. Apparently, the Indian aroused suspicion of the inspectors when he arrived at the airport and found the aforementioned substance after conducting a search on him. He was referred to the relevant authority.
