KUWAIT CITY, May 23: The Court of Appeals Thursday obliged the Kuwait Airways Corporation to pay KD 10,000 and KD100 as court fees to a lawyer and his children. Case papers show the defendant booked roundtrip tickets for himself and his children to Beirut including hotel reservation for two days in April 2012. However, the KAC failed to take the passengers to their destination and left to face difficulties during the trip and had to stay at the neighboring airport in Cyprus without receiving any necessary care. Moreover, he returned to Kuwait from Cyprus and was unable to meet his counterparts and agents in Lebanon.

According to the case files, the Public Prosecution had accused former MPs Musallam Al-Barrak, Khaled Al-Tahoos, Khaled Al-Fadhala, Ahmad Al-Sayer, Waleed Al-Tabtabaei, Khaled Shaker, Ayed Al-Otaibi, Jama’an Al-Harbash and Abbas Al-Sha’abi of participating in an illegal protest and resisting police orders. Dad wins custody: The Ahmadi Personal Status Court recently ruled in favor of the father and gave him custody of the children after overturning earlier decision. This happened after the father proved to the court that his former wife who was initially given custody of the children was seen wearing bikini on one of the beaches in a Western country. The plaintiff’s attorney Yousuf Hussein pleaded with the court to revoke the custody order of the children from their mother and put the children under the care of the father. The attorney also submitted pictures to the court showing the defendant wearing bikini. She was also accompanied by a man, who is not her relative, thus proving to the court that the care of children cannot be left in the hands of an irresponsible person.
