‘PAHW will implement Amir’s recommendations on housing’ 12,800 units to be made available annually: Al Waqyan

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The Director General of Public Authority of Housing Welfare (PAHW) BaderAl-Waqyan affirmed that the sector will implement the recommendations issued by HH the Amir to solve housing issue without delay through the activation of serious measures and intensified programs to reduce the waiting period for receiving a house.

Al-Waqyan was quoted by KUNA as saying PAHW is committed to distribute 12,748 residential units through eight projects in the current fiscal year 2014/2015, and denied that 20,000 residential units will be distributed annually. He stressed the figure is not accurate and “rather, 12,800 units will be made available in the period”.

He also said the plan will cover the distribution of 2,201 government houses that are ready in Sabah Al- Ahmad residential city and 1,475 others plus 70 apartments in Jaber Al- Ahmad city, 396 houses and 310 apartments in the northwest of Sulaibikhat, in addition to 2,426 plots within Al-Wafra extension project, 370 houses under Wafra project, 171 houses in Abu Halifa, and 133 more in Sabahiya.

Meanwhile, PAHW declared that door will be open for those who submitted applications on Dec 31, 1994 or earlier to receive government plots in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak.

The project involves 5,196 plots expected to be distributed by PAHW in the current fiscal year, indicating the scrutiny of applications for allocation of plots will begin May 26 at the Housing Service Hall at PAHW and branches of the Government Mall in Jahra, Jaber Al-Ali and Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh during official working hours, and in the evening at the premises of PAWH in South Surra from 5:00pm-8:00 pm.
