Egyptians ignore trouble makers, cast votes

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Among the Egyptian residents of Kuwait who thronged the Egyptian Embassy in Da’iya area to cast their votes in the presidential elections, some troublemakers affiliated to certain groups tried to hamper the electoral process by using uncouth statements but their efforts were futile due to the strong determination of the electorates especially after the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Abdulkareem Sulaiman addressed the electorates three times to calm the situation.

However, the voting process was suspended for almost one and a half hours, while strong buildup on the mobile telecommunication tower resulted in slow counting of votes electronically. The embassy had to extend the official election timings by three hours thereby the elections ended at 12 midnight and the electoral committee completed their activities at around 1 am.
