Two kilos heroin, 16,000 pills, half kilo ‘shabu’ found on Asian Man wanted in 16 thefts caught

KUWAIT CITY, May 14: A team of officers from the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) continued the campaign against drug traffickers, in compliance with the directive of Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhamid Al-Awadi and headed by Director of the Management Department Major General Saleh Al-Ghanam.

The campaign led to the arrest of an Asian with two kilograms of heroin; 16,000 narcotic pills and half kilogram of shabu in his possession. He tried to smuggle these narcotic substances into the country by hiding them in cans used for preserving meat and fish products. Acting on information about a drug dealer operating in Salwa, the team put the suspect under surveillance. They took the necessary legal action immediately after checking the veracity of the information.

They raided the suspect’s apartment and this resulted in the discovery of the abovementioned quantity of drugs. The team disclosed the suspect used carbon paper to hide the narcotic substances in the cans. He admitted to selling drugs during interrogation, so he was referred to the concerned security department for prosecution.

Thief caught: Capital Governorate securitymen arrested a Kuwaiti wanted by law for his involvement in 16 theft cases while he was driving a German-made vehicle in Faiha. It has been reported several expatriates and citizens complained about the stealing of the contents of vehicles parked in various locations in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and the Capital. According to a security source, another citizen filed a complaint at Faiha Police Station that the contents of his vehicle, which was parked in front of his house, were stolen.

The surveillance camera installed in his house was able to record the theft. This helped the securitymen take description of the thief and circulated the information to patrols in all governorates, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect. During preliminary investigations, the suspect confessed to stealing the contents of vehicles parked near the mosques and other locations. A case was registered and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
