Zain hosts Brazilian legend Ronaldo in main headquarters Company prepared exciting surprise for winners of its WC offer to meet star

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced today that it hosted retired Brazilian footballer Ronaldo in its main headquarters in Shuwaikh. This special visit came in part of Zain’s platinum sponsorship of the sporting activities that witnessed the participation of massive enthusiastic local football fans who were eager to meet the famous player during his first visit to Kuwait. Zain’s Chief Executive Officer Omar Saud Al Omar alongside Zain executives cordially welcomed the Brazilian footballer in the company’s main headquarters where he took part in a tour around some of the company’s departments. The Brazilian footballer, who visits the country for the first time, learned about Zain’s leading and successful position in the telecommunications sector in Kuwait. Al Omar presented Ronaldo with a memorable honoring trophy as a sign of gratitude for his visit to the country to participate in the crowd-attracting events.   

The company stated that this was a golden opportunity to share Zain’s continuous support to the youth and sports sectors with Ronaldo, where the Brazilian legend was introduced to some of the company’s most celebrated sporting events. Ronaldo expressed his admiration to the company’s many achievements in the sports sector such as its sponsorship of the friendly match between the popular German football club Bayern Munich and Kuwait’s club, as well as the company’s “Zain League” which witnessed the participation of a large number of young Kuwaiti footballers as well as the appearance of the famous Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit in 2012, in addition to the continuous sporting activities the company organizes during Ramadan of every year. The Brazilian player expressed his pleasure to be part of Zain’s most recent sporting activities that witnessed massive crowds of local football loving fans.

Zain was keen to set a surprise to its own employees during Ronaldo’s visit to the company’s headquarters. During his tour around the company, Ronaldo paid a visit to the Contact Center (107) where he surprised the agents as they were receiving calls from customers. The famous player expressed his admiration to the quality standards the company follows to ensure customer service excellence in one of the top contact centers in the MENA region.

As part of Zain’s latest World Cup promotional draw for post-paid customers, where four lucky winners won all-inclusive trips to witness the FIFA World Cup Final match in Rio de Janeiro, the company invited the winners to its headquarters where an exciting surprise was waiting for them. The winners met the Brazilian legend Ronaldo and took memorable photographs with him, as he shared his nostalgic feelings of the time he lead Brazil’s team into winning the World Cup title twice.

During his visit to Kuwait, Ronaldo attended a football tournament featuring various football academies from Kuwait and Kuwait-based European football fan clubs, as well as making an iconic appearance at 360 Mall, where professional Kuwaiti footballers engaged in a penalty kicks activity with the famous playmaker in an exciting atmosphere. The two events witnessed the participation of massive enthusiastic local football fans who were eager to meet the famous player and take photographs with him.

Zain’s Platinum sponsorship of the exciting event falls under its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that focuses on a diverse range of sporting activities for youth. Ronaldo’s first-time visit to Kuwait is part of the company’s support of the physical well-being and health-orientation of young people in the country, and these series of events also reiterate the company’s commitment to the development of the sports sector in Kuwait.
