‘Terror-linked’ man seeks govt protection ‘No status rectification for 6 countries’

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: An unidentified person has been referred to the Directorate-General of the State Security police for interrogation for indulging in activities harmful to the state, reports Al-Rai daily. The Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior reportedly received a call from the suspect seeking police protection.

The caller had apparently supplied smoke bombs for a terrorist group in the Kingdom of Bahrain in return for money and all of a sudden fearing for his life decided to break off the relationship with this group. A few days ago the group called the man again and ordered him to complete the job half done and threatened to cause him and his family harm.

The man panicked and informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and sought protection and he was detained for interrogation.

Deportation stressed: The Ministry of Interior has turned down the requests from citizens of six countries to correct their situations after paying fines, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added, the citizens of these six countries are residence law violators and insist on deporting them. These citizens, particularly the Syrians, have appealed to the Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Lieutenant-General Suleiman Al- Fahd to allow them to correct their situations in light of the critical situation in their home country.
