Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled gives go-ahead for new police hospital
35,000 driving licenses taken illegally withdrawn in one year Over 200 GTD staffers sent for probe

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: More than 218 employees of the General Traffic Department have been referred to the Public Prosecution for not abiding by the rules and regulations in issuing driving licences, reports Al-Rai daily quoting the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs, Major-General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali.

According to Al-Ali 35,000 driving licenses were withdrawn in just one year because they were not issued in line with the instructions laid down by the Ministry of Interior.

 Minister gives go-ahead for new police hospital: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khaled Monday approved the structural design for the construction of buildings and facilities of the New Police Hospital.

The minister commended HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah for his good judgment and determination to construct a specialized hospital of international standards for the police, which will contain all necessary medical specialties. He praised HH the Amir for his consistent support and care for the civilian and military personnel of Ministry of Interior and their families as well as the retirees and their families. He declared that HH the Amir has been steadily providing all necessary social, healthcare and humanitarian welfare equivalent to their counterparts in the armed forces.

The minister approved the New Police Hospital design after the Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services Major General Dr Eid Abu Sulaib gave a detailed presentation of the project. He explained that the hospital will be built on 90,000 square meters land within the Al-Sabah Health Zone in collaboration with the concerned departments in the Ministry of Health
