A security source said the brother of the suspect may be an accomplice to the crime and can be deported.

The source added the family of the Syrian claim they are bedoun and did not cooperate with the police during interrogation in spite of the fact that they were fully aware of the details of the crime and because they did not cooperate it cost securitymen a lot of time and effort.

Meanwhile, the Syrian during interrogation is said to have admitted to committing the crime. He also told interrogators he was planning to leave the country on the same day he was arrested. He disclosed, he had sought the help of a Saudi citizen who was to help him cross over into Saudi Arabia in return for a fee - KD 1,400.

He also told interrogators he worked as a taxi driver and saw the vehicle transporting the money several times and finally made a plan to rob the money. He escaped with the bag containing KD 13,000 because he was not aware there was more than KD 200,000 in the vehicle.
