Indian expat in liquor peddling

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Farwaniya securitymen arrested an Indian man, in his 30s, with 315 bottles of locally-brewed liquor after a hot chase in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. While patrolling the area, the security officers noticed the suspect loading black bags in his vehicle; so they approached him for routine inspection. However, the suspect fled and the officers chased him until he was arrested. The officers discovered several bottles of local alcoholic drink inside the black bags when they inspected the suspect’s vehicle. During interrogation, he admitted to selling alcohol at KD2.5 per bottle. He was then referred to the concerned security department, along with the confiscated items, for the necessary legal action.

Police hunt for truth: The Security Media Department at the Interior Ministry recently issued an official statement to clarify rumors spread through various social networking sites about an expatriate who was allegedly harassed by four transvestites inside a commercial mall in Salmiya. Rumor has it that a security officer interfered and took the side of the transvestites.
