Police arrest young Kuwaiti, hunt for accomplice in multiple thefts

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Police have arrested a young Kuwaiti and are looking for his accomplice for committing several thefts, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a security source, securitymen from the Andalus Police Station saw two youths driving a car without numbers plate and ordered them to stop. The motorist disobeyed, stepped on the gas pedal and sped off. The youths then abandoned the car at an unidentified location and escaped on foot. Police arrested the Kuwaiti who was hiding between two buildings. The 2013 model car he was driving was reported stolen. Police then searched their vehicle and confiscated stolen numbers plates, a flasher, a hammer and cigarettes filled with hashish. During interrogation the Kuwaiti is said to have admitted to committing the thefts.

Arms trader arrested: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti for trading in weapons and ammunition, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the Ahmadi police acting on information set a trap and arrested the man and seized from him a Kalashnikov rifle (named Bin Laden) which he sold for a police agent for KD 2,000 and 230 rounds of ammunition to a police agent. The confiscated items and the suspect have been referred to the authorities
