Housemaid gives birth to a ‘legitimate’ baby 6 Egyptians held over 40 theft crimes

KUWAIT CITY, May 10: AKuwaiti citizen has refused to rehire his Ethiopian maid after she gave birth, saying he was not aware that she was pregnant when he hired her five months ago, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security source, the citizen had hired the housemaid through a domestic labor agency. However, five months later, he was shocked to hear her scream and realized she was delivering a baby. She was rushed to Farwaniya Hospital. She later informed securitymen that she gave birth to a legitimate baby and she was unaware that she was pregnant before she came to Kuwait. Securitymen investigated and verified her statement.

6 commit 40 thefts: Six Egyptian juveniles were arrested for committing 40 theft crimes in Mahboula and Abu Halifa areas, reports Al- Anba daily. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen conducted intensive investigations after receiving several complaints from expatriates in Mahboula and Abu Halifa areas about the theft of their vehicles. The victims explained that they would leave their vehicles turned on in front of grocery stores and pharmacies to buy items and when they return, the vehicles were missing. Securitymen eventually arrested the six juveniles one after the other who confessed they stole the vehicles, used them to commit other thefts and then set them on fire. They admitted to committing 40 crimes and were referred to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

KD 500,000 debt case: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti who was wanted by law in connection with KD 500,000 debts, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily said after an arrest warrant was issued against the suspect, he gave police a slip on several occasions. He was arrested after police received a tipoff from an unidentified source that the suspect was loitering at an unidentified location. Police then set a trap for him and took him in custody.

Saudis extradite Bedoun: Saudi security authorities have extradited a Bedoun to the Kuwaiti officials at Salmi border checkpoint after the suspect spent time in prison for attempting to pass through Saudi borders using a forged ID last year, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
