Bid to smuggle tiger cub foiled

KUWAIT CITY, May 9: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by a Kuwaiti to smuggle a tiger cub into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily. The passenger reportedly arrived from an Asian country. According to airport sources the man was carrying the cub in his handbag. When he was confronted by the customs authorities he said he was not aware that he is forbidden to bring in live animals.

Meanwhile, the Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested two teenagers for stealing gold necklace worth KD 3,000 and a smart phone from the car of a Kuwaiti woman which was parked in front of a wedding hall, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after the woman filed a complaint with the Adan Police Station and investigations conducted by police led to identifying one of the suspects. The daily added when arrested a man while using the stolen phone, he said the phone belongs to his son. When the son was confronted by the police he admitted to stealing it from the woman car and the necklace. He then led police to his accomplice.
